The Midwest nest Coalition was developed to support and assist all Nest sites
in the
boundaries of the March
of Dimes-IA State Chapter. The coalition provides a start-up manual for future
Nest sites, acts as an umbrella for seeking major grants, and will serve as a
sounding board for challenges and a support for solutions.
The Coalition meets four times per year. Members are expected to be on a Coalition committee. Committees are Executive, Education, Operations, and Public Relations.
The Stork's Nest is an innovative, incentive and educational program
developed by the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. The program
is designed to increase the awareness and use of
maternal and infant health care services,
and to insure that more babies get a healthy start in life.
The purpose of the program is to reduce the incidence of low birth weight,
birth defects, and infant deaths by encouraging prenatal care and education.
Each Stork's Nest is unique and must adapt to the needs of their personal
community.
